CELEBRATING THE YEAR OF THE HORSE

I know this post is way overdue but it's better late than never. I hope everyone had a wonderful Chinese New Year Celebrations!

This year is rather special for me because it was the first time I spent CNY with my other half. We had home-prepped steamboat at his place for dinner with his family on the first day of the new year. They have the best fishcake/fishball/fishpaste a.k.a mpek-mpek I have ever eaten hands down as it is actually the local delicacy from where they come from: Palembang, Indonesia. Then we ended the dinner with a fine toast on Inniskillin Ice Wine for a prosperous year ahead. My diet would have to start "tomorrow", but I know tomorrow will never come.

The next morning I brought my boyfriend for a brunch date at The White Rabbit, apparently known to be one of the most romantic dining places in Singapore. It does have a nice ambiance and we like the high-ceiling, bright and peaceful atmosphere in the dining room. We ordered their famous Duck Platter and Steak and Eggs, paired with a cup of mocha and coffee latte. Overall, we had a great time; excellent service, perfect portion of the food and a unique dining experience that satisfies our "yolo" factor.

Boyfriend, good food, put on abit of weight :/ , angbaos and sweet sweet oranges. What more could I ask for?!

Love,
Alyssa
