THE BIG WEDDING

Jen and I were both thankful, honored and lucky to be cordially invited to the biggest wedding we have anticipated for years: The Wedding of the Son and Daughter of Indonesia's Top Conglomerates Victor and Amelia. We had been busy lately- with working out intensively and hunting for evening gowns a little too last minute hoping that we appeared at our best.

The party was held over 3 days in Kempinski Hotel Indonesia, starting with the "E! Entertainment Red Carpet-Themed" Pre-Wed Party on the 22nd of February. The interior design, venue set-up and ambiance of the night were a perfect fit to that of a real Hollywood Red-Carpet moment, right from the start we entered the ballroom. We were welcomed with a crowd of photographers, flashing their cameras away towards our faces. Blinded by those lights, the host came to approach us and hold a mini talk with us, just like how Giuliana Rancic would interview Kim Kardashian on E!. She simply asked about our dresses and what we carried in our clutches.

The agenda was filled with dynamic performances from singing to dancing, and the food makes it even better. They served a buffet selections from German pork knuckles and sausages from Paulaner Brauhaus, local ox-tail soup, meatloaf to the best foie gras, wagyu korean bbq, fresh lobster and miso gindara black cod and many more. Just imagine the endless supply of foie gras that night. Super memorable. They served chocolate molten lava cake, pastries and gelato ice cream for deserts but we did not get to try them because we were too eager to join the AfterParty- endless liquors and wines, amazing songs, no rules, no bills, no queue. It was the best night! Well..minus off the long gowns, extreme killer heels and clutch bags that got on our way.

The 2nd day was the actual wedding day itself, held on the 28th of February in Jakarta. It began in the afternoon with the most beautiful holy matrimony session- the amazing orchestra and choir ensemble that accompanied the mass. To be honest, it was the first in a long time, I did not fall asleep during the homily... the Father gave a very interesting sharing about marriage, and it was hilarious, engaging and of the perfect length. Amelia's radiance and graceful charm also played a part- we could not take our eyes off her flawless beauty and elegance.

Because Mercedes is too mainstream... HAHHAA!

The church celebration was followed by the wedding reception in the evening, attended by close family and friends of the bride and groom. The interior decoration simply defined true opulence, with endless strings of flowers and leaves draping down the ceiling and fresh bouquet of orchids and roses displayed in delicate vases and glass bottles that hung beautifully. The decoration was dominantly white and soft yellow on the first wedding reception, thus it complements perfectly to the bold red dresses and ties which were the chosen color theme for the family and bridesmaids that night.

With the stunning bride and groom before they made their entrance...

The last day of the celebration ended with the 2nd wedding reception in the evening of 1st March. This time, the color of the decoration was dominantly purple lavender and pastel pink, which also complements perfectly with the soft pastel colors of the dresses that night. Apparently Jen and I were a little color-blind that we attended the night in bold red and blue dresses.

The forever glowing bride in her amazing 5kg Zuhair Murad gown...truly breathtaking!

Ah, not to forget, our JENNIFER CAUGHT THE BOUQUET!!! CONGRATS JEN!!! hahaha

It was an incredible wedding celebration and we were truly thankful to be a part of these special days. We had lots of fun eating buffets of luxurious dishes, scanning beautiful dresses by beautiful designers on the guests around us especially THE BRIDE's, taking silly selfies and ootn shots of ourselves and being inspired by the extravagant decorations of the wedding. With much sincerity, we both would like to wish Ko Victor and Ci Amelia, for a very happy marriage and may you both be blessed with prosperity, good health and endless joy. Thank you, for letting us experience what I would call, The Royal Wedding of Indonesia. *Cheers and Toast Away!!!*

XOXO,
Alyssa and Jen

  1. Hey, that looks like a stunning ceremony. I loved the bridal gown a lot. It looks exclusive and quite expensive too. Even we would be having the golden and black themed ceremony that would be hosted at one of the local garden themed event venues in Chicago. Would love to have this type of outfit for my special day.
